![]() ![]() ![]() The Battleoids are referred to as Batroids and the Valkyrie’s were at one time called Balkilly. The rough outline dedicates three pages to describing the various mecha of the series, mostly focusing on the humans. The Robotech Defense Force is called The Earth Integration Army, which speaks to the Earth coming together in the wake of the SDF-1 crash landing. The Zentradi aren’t given a name in the character section but are referred to as ‘The Center Army” in the outline for episode one. The characterization in Robotech never pointed to this age and having that age gap between her ‘Gene’ would have been kinda creepy. Miriya went by Miria Farrina (another Romanization of her Japanese Macross counterpart) and is strangely listed as being fourteen years old. Interesting that they list him over Breetai or even Exedore. He’s a woman hater.” That… is certainly an interpreation of Khyron. His real nature very often appears under the cool-headed mask. Khyron was never given an English name in the outline, although ‘Kamujin Kravshera’ is crossed out, which is a Romanization of ‘ Quamzin Kravshera’. He’s described as, ‘he pretends to be a nihilist but in fact he is hot-blooded. Interestingly they couldn’t quite settle on an age for Gene, with ages of sixteen and eighteen thrown out before they decided to go with twenty. Max Sterling nearly went by Gene Maxillian, a very close adaption of the original Japanese Macross name of Maximilian Jenius. Lynn Minmei kept her original last name, but her first name was going to be Linda! She’s ever referred to in the description as “Linda Ronstadt in space.’ Did Macek draw influence from this famous singer in charectirzing Minmei? My god, imagine a world where the main character of Robotech was Rick Blane. Who knows if this was ever seriously considered or it was just a passing thought and Macek preferred Yamada as the last name. In the rough outline, the characters Japanese name, Hikari Ichijo is crossed out, and another name is crossed out before they setlled on Rick Yamada.Rick Blane. In the released Macross video pilot, the character that came to be known as Rick Hunter was referred to as Rick Yamada. I’m of course reading way too far into this, but come on, people have done the same thing with little bits of Star Wars footage so why not Robotech? 2: Original Character Names Galactic hints at a much larger universe, one which Robotech certainly explored in its various spin offs. Besides even with the protoculture matrix, there is still “replicant fading” to deal with, and Robotech Master technology didn’t support instantaneous space folding for the SDF (which was the top of the line ship at that point, but it sure was ugly) so I can imagine that replication was unavailable to the Zentraedi, by lack of knowledge or deliberate withholding. The first title is obviously a Romanization of the Macross name, although the change from ‘Galactic’ to ‘Space’ is a fascinating one. Actually Breetai kinda proves they are exact same people otherwise why not fix his peripheral vision, they are soldiers and that is actually a very important element to being a full functional soldier. Oh, and Breetai got his scar from a Invid shock troop under Dolza’s command while trying to save Zor and the SDF, again at about a couple hundred years ago. The next oldest Dolza was WITH Zor when he sent the SDF to earth, the couple hundred years before it hit Macross Island. I think Exedore was the oldest (one of the first full sized Zentraedi, but was never a soldier (he was deemed a failure to Masters, I can only imagine that he was a laborer on Phantoma. Supreme Commander Leonard is an Agent of the Robotech Masters.Įxedore, Breetai and Dolza are notably old. I really can’t see the Zentraedi being any different. Medical technology though could extend the life.Īs for Exedore and Breetai’s ages: People also age differently. In a society of clones such genes might have been weeded out. ![]() If anything those with a genetic pre-disposition to long-lifespans might exist, but they would not be the norm. I can see it modified for a variety of health factors, but not increased lifespan. I just can’t see the Zentraedi genome modified for longevity. Mentally they might have “pre-formatted” knowledge blocks they download, and that combined with their experiences develops their personality. Given the resizing process they could grow a new clone body to adult hood quickly. I would think it would be less than normal humans.įirst you have them grown to adult hood, so they have lost 18-20yrs (minimum) already. Micronised Zents possibly aged the same as normal humans do, maybe with an extra bonus of living up to speculative 100 yrs of age (due to Zents modified genes). However, post Rain of Death marked a new era for Zentraedi. ![]()
